The different washable diapers
When you look for washable diapers online and you see all kinds of diapers with names such as TE1 or TE2 and different sizes or when you view the another mother's experience, they'll tell you this one is better or this one is more preferable. All of this can get you really confused if you are new to the cloth diaper routine. But don't worry, the first step is to understand the differences between TE1, TE2 and TE3. What are the cheapest diapers? What are the most practical layers? What equipment do i need? Once you understand this, it will be easy for you to make choices.
There are different types of washable diapers that you can choose according to your preferences and what your baby feels most comfortable with:
TE1: The all-in-one diaper or TE1
The TE1 is the closest to disposable in use because it is one piece, you don't need anything else. Sometimes it has a pocket to insert the microfiber bamboo swaddle inside and sometimes it's just a whole piece. With the TE1, the baby stays dry because everything is absorbed by the microfiber swaddle inside the pocket. The microfiber inserts do not actually touch the baby's skin as it is protected by the pocket lining. The best part is you can reuse the whole thing. If you wash it, nothing comes apart, you can put it in the washing machine and in the dryer. It is very easy to use but some people have problems with the drying time. It takes a long time to dry because of its layers. Another downside is that it tends to be more expensive because you do less work, the easier the steps, the more expensive it is, but it is more convenient than other types because you don't have to worry about getting multiple layers in case of emergency situations. The other downside is that you need more diaper because you change the whole TE1 with each change.
TE2: The TE2 diaper
The TE2 layer consists of a blanket with a wipeable surface and a waterproof layer. You can put whatever insert you want, whether it's the old-fashioned cloth diapers or the microfiber diapers. It's easy to just clean the insert, reuse it, and replace the washable insert in the pocket. There is no problem with the drying time because they are separate parts, it takes less time than TE1.
More economical in price and weight you can use the waterproof washable diaper at least twice before washing it. So you need fewer waterproof diapers since you only change the washable inserts each time. The TE2 is also available in an adjustable size which allows you to follow the baby's growth and adapt to all sizes.
TE3: The all-in-three diaper
The TE3 is a set, basically known as hybrid diapers, you can have it all-in-one or all-in-two or in your pocket. So if you want to keep her tied, you can. If you want to use it as an all-in-one, you just need to make sure to remove the inside while washing. Anything that has a changeable insert is an all-in-two. You have the flexibility of both systems but still have the infill problem where you have to organize them together. Since you have two different parts, they also dry easily. You can also customize the absorbance of the insert, it's up to you if you want to double the insert.
No system is better than the other, you just have to choose what which best suits your lifestyle and your baby. The layers of blanket is not good for you as there is too much to do, if you are at home you might like to fill the diapers with the microfiber bamboo insert, if you find it difficult the all-in -a are awesome. Basically you don't have to stick to just one type of layer, TE1 TE2 or TE3 you can switch to try different things and see what works best for you!
